From your perspective, what do you think was the main factor that led the jury to award your resort the title of Most Innovative Spa Hotel?... Our company is led by visionary people—motivators and inspirers—who create a positive work environment and a meaningful hospitality experience, so the results had to be noticed and recognized. We believe the entire concept is unique – an exceptional natural location and diverse facilities leave no one indifferent. We’re sure the competition was strong, which makes us even prouder that our resort had that “something unique, authentic, and special” that led us to win the award. What does receiving the ESPA Innovation Award mean for your team? We are proud to have received many prestigious awards so far, but the entire team is especially honored to receive the ESPA Innovation Award 2023. This award means a lot to every team member because we are aware of the high standards set and the expertise of the jury members. It has been given a special place in the trophy cabinet, visible to guests, but also serving as a daily reminder to the team of the importance of consistency, fresh ideas, and extra effort for every guest and their experience during their stay at the hotel. What is your view on the future of spa and health tourism in Europe and in your country? Are there areas for improvement and innovation? Lately, we often hear about disease prevention and overall well-being. The fast pace of life today demands answers on how to relax and recover in a short time. In my opinion, spa hotels should play a key role in that process, and that is something we all need to work on together. People need to be educated that visiting spa centers is one of the ways to stay healthy longer and to refresh themselves by using the natural elements we have and use responsibly. As a spa hotel, we have the honor and privilege of helping people enjoy and revitalize themselves, and we certainly feel inspired to do even more innovative things and meet—if not exceed—expectations. Can you share your resort’s future plans and initiatives? Vrdnik is a destination with huge potential – in close proximity to two major cities, Belgrade and Novi Sad, as well as an international airport, located on the sunny slopes of Fruška Gora within a national park, and rich in mineral-thermal waters. By respecting principles of sustainability, long-term planning, and local community involvement, our company has managed to make the destination recognizable worldwide. Together with government institutions, a master plan for the entire area has been developed, which will further enhance the destination’s tourism offering. With more options for various outdoor activities, site visits, and events, tourists will spend more quality time, extend their stays, and improve their well-being.
